Town of Parker Special Election Date Set

Parker Town Hall at sunrise

A special election will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 to fill two vacancies on the Parker Town Council.

This special election will be held to fill the seats vacated by former Councilmember Renee Williams, who resigned her position in September 2020, and Jeff Toborg, who was elected Mayor on November 3, 2020. Any Councilmembers elected through this special election will serve until the next regular municipal election, which is scheduled for Nov. 8, 2022.

The Town will hold a pre-candidate meeting at Parker Town Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. to discuss the elected positions and the process to become a candidate; how to obtain information related to council agendas, reports and calendars; and to address questions related to the positions of Councilmember. The pre-candidate meeting is being held to prepare candidates for the first day that nomination petitions can be circulated for these elected positions, which is Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Individuals who circulate a nomination petition and obtain the required number of qualified signatures (as verified by the Town Clerk) and file the acceptance of Councilmember with the Town Clerk on or before Monday, Feb. 8, will be included on the April 20 ballot.

The Town will hold a candidate orientation meeting at Parker Town Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.  to determine the order in which candidate names will be placed on the ballot and to provide information related to campaign contributions, the Fair Campaign Practices Act, Code of Ethics, Disclosure Statements and Election Signs, as well as many important dates and deadlines.
