April 2021 Special Election

The special election for the Town Council vacancies will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. The Town will hold the special election. The Town Council election will be held to elect two (2) councilmembers to serve until the next regular municipal election, which is November 8, 2022. 

The Town will hold a pre-candidate meeting at the Parker Town Hall, located at 20120 E. Mainstreet, Parker, Colorado, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will include current mayor/councilmembers and key staff, who will generally discuss the position of councilmember, the process to become a candidate for Town Council, how to obtain information related to council agendas, reports and calendars, and address questions related to the position of councilmember.

The pre-candidate meeting is being held to prepare candidates for the first day that nomination petitions can be circulated for the position of councilmember, which is Tuesday, January 19, 2021. You will be given a copy of the nomination petition and related instructions for Councilmember at the pre-candidate meeting.

If you circulate a nomination petition and obtain the required number of qualified signatures (as verified by the Town Clerk) and file the acceptance of nomination for Councilmember with the Town Clerk on or before Monday, February 8, 2021, your name will be placed on the April 20, 2021, ballot for the position of mayor or councilmember.

The Town will hold a candidate orientation meeting at the Parker Town Hall on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to determine the order in which candidate names will be placed on the ballot and to provide you with information related to campaign contributions, the Fair Campaign Practices Act, Code of Ethics, Disclosure Statements and Election Signs, as well as many important dates and deadlines.
